Helen | Salon Manager

I’m passionate and very enthusiastic about my work. I love change and always encourage clients to work with their skin tone and face shape. This is what makes me so excited about working with new clients and loyal clients and I just love seeing them walk out feeling like a million dollars.

My attitude and passion will allow me to keep going and never give up. I’m always ahead on trend and always keep myself busy on courses. Over the years I’ve attended cutting, colouring and wig cutting courses. This keeps me fresh and allows me to give the best possible advice and keep clients on trend.

I have taken part in the Fellowship for BritishHairdressing exclusive course – Project X. Dubbed ‘the finishing school of hairdressing’ this enabled me to spend the year meeting industry peers, gaining experience with leading professionals and learning new skills and techniques.

All these courses and opportunities mean I can give something back by providing training for everyone in theGroup. At present, I’m working closely with the 3rd years on creative cutting. I’m also proud to have trained from students around the UK on the Essential Cutting Course at the Wella Studios in London and Manchester for the last three years.

The highlight of my creative work has been driving the KH Hair Creative Team to create a complete look on stage; choosing the models, hair, clothes and music for our annual KH Hair Awards evening. We work with choreographers Tom & Ellie, who are highly respected in the dance industry. Being able to showcase this to my KH Hair family is always a very proud moment.

Turning a new path in my career I’ve recently left the Creative Team after more than eight years to focus my time and energy on both my role as salon manager and on my clients.

I’ve recently completed a 12 week course on dementia. This has really helped me to have a deeper understanding of the condition. It’s also really helped me to give my clients who suffer from the illness the best experience in the salon.
